Demidov Acting Technique 3-Day Intensive
In this 3-day Intensive, actors will train in the Culture of Creative Freedom, at the root of Demidov Organic Acting Technique. Participants will be introduced to Demidov’s signature etudes (improvisational exercises with given text).
Demidov etudes train actors to spontaneously create circumstances, relationships and characters. They stimulate actors’ unpredictability and emotional richness, and they evoke a free flow of subconscious creativity, leaving behind rationality and analysis that lead us to become head bound.
In these etudes we begin to learn to trust and give in to our creative instincts, and develop the ability to enter a sustainable creative state, enabling us to access the richness of our inner life.

Participants will study techniques intrinsic to the Art of Living Onstage, such as:
• the intimate process of character inception
• Demidov’s unique method of evoking circumstances in the space
• techniques of Creative Passivity (surrender to the truth of what is happening now) and Perception (truly seeing and hearing onstage)
• Actors will also be introduced to the art of inexact (creative) repetition
The Demidov Organic Acting Technique is rooted in the culture of creative freedom.
As founding director of the Moscow Art Theatre’s School, and one of the three original teachers of the Stanislavsky System, Nikolai Demidov uncovered the professional secret that puts actors in touch with their own creative individuality by teaching them to recognise and follow their artistic instincts, and he was able to solve the problems of the actor’s creative state that Stanislavsky never could.
The intensive will be taught by Demidov Studio Vienna Founder and Director Andrei Biziorek.
